Michele Rain
In the last few years my life has completely changed. I have gone from having a respectable income, being a full of myself city dweller, to a small town, over worked, kicked in the ass, down on my luck survivor. And, I am much more the happier because of it.
Throughout these later years I have had many less luxurious jobs including lawn mowing, taking Santa Claus pictures, cleaning, fire wood cutting, managing a music store (one of the most demeaning jobs I've ever had to endure), car washing (for a day) and delivering bagels . When people use the term starving artist they really mean it. Last year I was told I looked like I'd been released from an internment camp I was so skinny. Let me tell you, it's not a good look.
I have been a professional photographer for 28 years and always fed my artistic side with my photography and making music. Through different stages of life they have always played a huge role in fulfilling me. They are friends and I am grateful to have them.
My current projects include:
- Photography. My favorite is shooting Figure Studies (nudes)
- THE GRIFFIN BOX (selling artwork in a coffee-table book disguised as a beautifully crafted wooden box) patent, logo, box craftsmen in the USA and thegriffinbox.com
- Working with other artists on Bohemian Woodlands Gallery inc. / bwgart.com
- Writing The Upside-down World of Macinshelf (a true story)
- Music (writing and playing pop/folk).
For fun I like to make wind chimes, light sculptures (ooh, shiny) and of course take pictures and music.
Our cats: Byron (Black tux), Drew (Siamese that came from Mexico).
Our dogs: Syrus (a Golden Retard (Retriever), Mel (an Austrial Shepard mix, way laid back), Ally (Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix - cat size dog = dat, inherited from my Mom).
All of whom keep my partner and I happily entertained. It's hard to be in a bad mood when your dog smiles at you all day.
